Afraid of Moving Forward? A, B, SEES of VO Blog by Theresa Dodge, Voice Actor

Afraid of moving forward and stepping in a different direction in life? If so, I get it. Life has a way of taking hold and pushing us forward on the same path – never veering. That may be exactly what you want or need. My husband stays in his box and does not leave his life path. It works for him.

On the other hand, I live life fearlessly and don’t stay in my comfort zone. It took years to stop worrying about what everyone else thinks of me. I would, agonize over, writing a sentence, for fear, a comma, would be in the wrong, place – or a sentence would not be grammatically correct.

I realize now the most important thing in life is to be true to yourself, don’t judge others, be honest, respectful and kind. We all have our own special talents and skills to share.

As a voice actor, I record what someone else writes and punctuates. I love to make the words come to life and pop personality into the copy.

If at this point you’re asking yourself what is voiceover, or think you may have the talent and skills it takes to be in the voiceover industry – start here:

An Edge Studio evaluation. There is a fee, but well worth the time and investment. Best part…you’ll get an honest evaluation of your voice and your marketability. Then, if you decide to give it a shot…move forward fearlessly!

Enjoy the day,

Sneakingly sliding this in and promoting two nonprofits close to my heart.

They'll love what you share..
